How do you pick!?!?!

Im having such a hard time trying to decide where to pick. I really like some of the stratospheres packages....but im just a little concerned b/c of its location on the strip...

How did you guys pick where to get married? Im trying to stay on a budget (we will be having a reception back home) but i still want things to be nice....

I would like to have:
some sort of reception (food, cake etc....no dance floor)
decent photography package and a video of the ceremony
hair and makeup done
reasonable flowers....it doesnt need to be huge or over the top...but pretty

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

  • I chose Paris because its location and price. I wanted to stay and get married in the same hotel (for my sanity), that would also be budget friendly for our family and friends. You need some kind of budget, then you can figure out what time of reception you want/can have. Anything and everything is possible in Vegas and there are tons of options. I learned so much here by reading reviews, board searches, and bios. Good luck and happy planning!

  • I am getting hitched at the Paris, I chose that because the chapel is beautiful, and i like the location (close to all the major fun hotels)...I was also considering planet hollywood.....Planet hollywood has some great suites for insuite receptions which can easily be affordable...It honestly was a flip of a coin for our final decision.

  • I broke it down to the basics:
ceremony- wanted outdoors, garden style, includes music and other things, and cheap (a ceremony lasts about an hour, if ceremony charges $1,000 that's $16/minute.)
hair/makeup- would be nice if included, not necessary
    flowers- daisies and peonies
reception- private, seated, good food, not overly expensive

so I'm having my ceremony at the Flamingo, it includes flowers, pianist for 4 songs, photographer, video of ceremony, room the night before (instead of the wedding night), minister, we can decorate the aisle how I want, I can bring in my own unity candle without being charged, and a coordinator.

Reception is at Grand Lux private room with a F&B min of $1500, no charge to bring in my own cake, no cake cutting fee, great food reviews, good drinks, if we don't meet the min. we can do a brunch the next day to meet it, and he's letting us make a signature drink,

I'm glad you mentioned the idea of possibly doing a brunch the next day to meet the food min. Our party is very small, we expect about 10 to 15 people and we only have 10 confirmed guests as of now and I'm kinda concerned about us not meeting the min. We are thinking of having our after dinner at Trevi so maybe I can ask if they will allow us to do something the follwing day to meet the food min or maybe they can issue us a giftcard for the difference to meet the min. I'm not sure if either is a pissibility but I guess it doesn't hurt to ask.

  • Have you considered an in-suite reception?  You wouldn't need the dance floor, and you could get married in the same hotel.

We picked Mandalay Bay because we vacationed there when we first started dating.  (We picked Maggiano's for our reception because it was a great deal for the cost.)  My package at MB includes flowers, photography, videography, etc.

If I could do it all over again, I'd probably pick the Wynn and Maggiano's, only because of their proximity to each other (and the Wynn is amazing).
  • We picked MB because it had an nice outdoor location and we like that end of the strip. Also that there were good reception options at the same location.
  • I knew I wanted to get married in a stand alone chapel and not in a hotel. I narrowed it down to 2 locations but picked the I was more attracted to.
    Good luck!
  • We chose the las vegas Hilton now named las Vegas hotel & casino. My package is $699 includes flowers, video, photographer, outside gazebo wedding & guests get 20 percent off rooms & dinner reception inside @ benihanas their dinner package is $35 per person.
