back from scouting, contracts in hand!

our scouting trip was a huge success!

the trip itself, started out horrible.  we volunteered to plane side check our bags (even though we packed to carry on, the plane was full, and we were trying to help).  well, our luggage went missing.  and we had hand written tags, so the bags weren't in the system and they had no record of them for over 24 hours.  ugh!  we spend our entire first day shopping at Walgreens and GAP.  we eventually got our bags and we could return some of the stuff we hadn't used/worn.

so - wedding stuff.  we have a contract for Caesar's Palace Juno Garden.  i fell in love with Caesar's overall - nice casino, amazing shopping, beautiful pool area.  the Juno Garden was under construction, so we couldn't actually see it, but we saw a ton of pictures and my fiance really liked it.  we saw the Venus Garden as well, but decided it wasn't private enough.  we met with Debbie and she was very nice and helpful - and wasn't pushy at all, which i appreciated.

we also have a contract for Joe's for the reception.  Tara was really nice and walked us through the entire venue, as well as food choices.  i thought the minimum was going to be alot higher, but its only $3,000.  with food and alcohol our immediate family members spent of $2,000 at our law school graduation dinner - so i tihnk we'll be ok :)

yay!  we just need to sign the contracts and send them back with out deposit this week and we'll be all set!!  so exciting!!

Congrats!  Too bad about your luggage but at least you have a venue and reception location now!

Yay!  That's so exciting.  I'm leaving for my scouting trip on Thursday, I can't wait.  Did you have to set up an appointment with Tara to view Joe's or any other potential reception/dinner locations at Caesars?  I'm planning on visiting their wedding office on Saturday and would love to see some of the reception possibilities while I am there.

Congrats!  We are getting married at the Venus Garden and having a reception at Joe's in April.  We made our decisions after going out for a scouting trip as well.

we did have an appointment set up with Tara before we left.  Sabrina is the main contact there, but she doesn't work on weekends so we met with Tara (who i think is now going to be our main contact).  both ladies are very nice and helpful via email.  and Tara was very flexible with us.  we had a 1pm appt set up, but because of the lost bags and shopping we had to do that morning, we bumped that appt back to 4pm.  then, we ended up going to Joe's around 2:30 for lunch, and there was an hour wait.  so we asked if Tara was avialable to meet then instead, and then we could eat after.  she welcomed us in with a smile - even though i'm sure we were driving her nuts that day.  haha.  she couldn't have been nicer.

i didn't look at any of the reception sites within Caesars, but the wedding office did let us know that receptions are handled totally separate - they aren't run thru the wedding office.  so, you might want to contact the wedding office and ask who you would talk to/make an appt with to discuss receptions within Caesars.

Hi,  I'm getting married March 4th 2010 in the Juno Garden @ 4:00 pm.
You said the garden was under construction?? Yikes?  I thought it was ready?  Any insight would help.  Also insight as far as sun for a 4:00 ceremony please.
