Hi    :)

I have been looking in to Yolo's for past week or so. I was just reading your reviews and noticed you had your dinner there. . Do you think it would be a good place for a group of about 35 people? I did read that you thought it was a smaller place so I wasn't sure.

I emailed them this morning so I'm still waiting for more info from them.

Thanks in advance!

I definitely think that they can fit 35 people there.  They have 2 long walls in the back corner of the restaurant that they put tables together for us. We did 2 or 3 tables along each wall in the corner... but you could do one long table on one of the walls if you wanted. The lighting in there makes for some beautiful backdrops for photographs! If Richard is still working there when you go, you should definitely request him as a server. He wasn't our server our reception night but he went out of his way to make sure we were taken care of (while we waited for our guests to arrive) and he was due to get off work like 30 mins later.  We requested him when we went back... he was amazing! ;)

Yay! I can't wait to get more info from them. That would save me from having to pay for transportation to have our guests dropped off at Ricardo's. Plus, if we could get some beautiful pictures while we are there that would be a huge plus! The pictures you took inside Planet Hollywood were AMAZING.

How did they work out the cake and champagne toast for you?

We actually didnt get to do the cake cutting.... Right when the food arrived, I got sick.It was from a combination of things.... all of the stress with the hotel, not eating all day, and elevation sickness (which I had most of the trip). :(  One of my bridesmaids inhaled her food and then took me back to the hotel. DH said it was awkward when the waiter brought out the cake, lol.
It was a huge reason why we went back before we left, I never got to eat my chicken enchiladas (which were delicious! )
We chose a restaurant inside of Planet Hollywood because of all of the great backdrops for photos... even though we had to come back the next day to get them b/c I got sick! lol.
Have you ever seen "What happends in vegas"? They stayed in Planet Hollywood.

Oh no, I'm so sorry you got sick and weren't able to enjoy your food. I read your reviews and I can imagine how stressed you were with everything that went on at Excalibur. I'm really scared that I'll get sick. It always happens to me. I've been to two weddings this year and I got sick at both. I have "special ocassion anxiety" LOL (I just made that term up)

Did you bring in your own cake?

I have seen the movie and also have had a couple friends that have stayed at PH recently. They all have wonderful things to say about the hotel. As of right now we are planning on either staying at NYNY or PH. We stayed at Stratosphere during my first trip to Vegas 2 years ago for my 21st birthday. I think the service there is 100% better than Excalibur and the price is about the same. I guess it's worth it if you don't mind the long trip down the strip.

Thanks for your help! I can't wait to see more of your pics :)

I think you will be fine coming from LA. We went from one extreme (humidity) to another. It rained one night while we were in Vegas and I immediately felt like a million bucks! We actually got to wake up to snow on the mountains in the distance. We really couldn't enjoy ourselves (drinking) because we were dehydrated the whole time. I get SOA (hehe) also. I had it sooo bad the morning or the wedding, until a large group of guys started yelling and clapping as I walked into the Excalibur casino, it really helped to loosen me up.
My MOH stayed at NYNY and it was very nice as well. Their room was absolutely beautiful, but they got a suite w/ the garden tub.

That's true. LA is just as hot. It takes some getting used to.

Well thank you so much for your help and your awesome reviews. It makes planning easier for the rest of us.

I recently requested to be on the mailing list for lasvegasbrides.com or some crap like that and I have been getting emails non-stop. Well one of them happened to be with the company that works with Yolo's. Idk if this is the same info you have but just wanted to pass it on as it has prices and stuff :)

I never got a response from her either. Good Luck. She doesn't work for Yolo's, she works for a company that put events together for a lot of the hotels.
