small iowa city venues

I am planning a late May wedding and would like to do an outdoor wedding with an indoor location as a back-up for bad weather.  I am expecting 50-60 guests and would like to keep the price below $1000.  I have found a few venues a ways out of town, but would really prefer to stay closer to Iowa City or Cedar Rapids.

    I dont know much about the location, but have you checked out Gazebo on the Green? It is in Iowa City and has some beautiful  looking gardens.  Good luck!

    FYI - I have not personally worked with them but I have heard HORRIBLE things about Gazebo on the Green (adding charges after the wedding, not keeping things clean, not remembering big things that we discussed, etc.).
    Have you checked into the Theater area in City Park in Iowa City?

    its not in IC, but i think you might be able to divide the space or rent half the room here:

    Lake Macbride golf course and country club is where I am having my wedding. There is no rental fee for reception and for a ceremony they charge $150.
