DIY hangers/pomander (PIP)

I've finally had some time the last couple of days to try a few projects I've been wanting to do. I'm still in the middle of a couple of things but I just finished up my personalized hangers and a test pomander.

The hangers didn't come out perfect but I'm pretty darn proud of them anyway, lol.

I'm not sure about the pomander. It's made of cupcake liners and is a little thin at the bottom because I started running out. These would be used on the chairs at the reception (they'll be either white or a natural wood color). If I decide to go with them, I want to find liners that are purple on the inside, too.

What do you girls think??

  • How hard are the hangers? All the places I looked made it seem so easy! I bought the wire, but I still need to get hangers. I'm hoping they come out good!!

They were way easier than I thought. Each one probably took about 10 - 15 minutes. I did several practice rounds, though, and this is as good as I can make them - lol. I pretty much shaped everything with my hands and just used pliers to tighten things up when I needed to.

For the hangers, I've heard it's a good idea to write it out (without taking your pen off the paper), and then bend the wire in the same way. I am definitely NOT taking that task on, but it looks good!

For the pomanders, I like them, but I do think it could use a few more just to fill it in a little. They will be very pretty!

I think your wire hangers turned out great! Some of the best handmade ones I've seen on the knot actually.

As far as the pomanders I'm not 100% sold. I would think there might be something a little better you could make them out of. From afar they didn't look bad, but when I blew the picture up I wasn't sold on the classiness of them. And since they will be hung on the reception chairs people will be up close and personal with them. Hope I didn't offend you just trying to give an honest opinion!

<div>Not offensive at all! That's kind of where I am with the pomanders, too. It's hanging on one of our doors and the more I look at it the more I'm not sure about it.
