evansville outdoor venues!!

I'd like to have the ceremony and reception in the same place outdoors. I need inexpensive but with the facilities needed to throw a wedding for 150ish people.. I talked to the bauerhaus (we're renting out large tent for reception from them) and they reccomended double M stables.. i have yet to see many pictures of the place but from what i have seen i like it and it even has a little chapel but i dont know if its big enough for my number of guests. I really need ideas! OUTDOOR spring time! Evansville area. I'm from newburgh and my fiance is from henderson so anywhere there is great too!

What about the Audobon Park?  I've never been to Evilla, but a friend of mine lives nearby and takes gorgeous pics at the park.  No clue if they would have event space, but it would be worth checking out.  It's beautiful in her pics!

it IS beautiful but it's only day time. we would like to have an evening reception and their rules require everyone to be gone and cleaned up at dark. :(

They're booked on my date. I am renting the large tent for the reception from them and their consultant is actually the one who referred me to the double M stables.. :( I am thinking about new harmony but I dont know of anywhere large enough for a ceremony and reception both outdoors.

Have you looked at Kokies or at West Haven Chalet? They both do outdoor set-ups. Also, we're getting married at Burdette Park next weekend.  We would have had the ceremony outside, but we settled on November for the date, so that wasn't going to be an option. They have some pretty spots though! Also, you can look at Garden of the Gods, or maybe a local golf course. Hope this helps!

Vanderburgh County 4-H center. I have seen pictures of weddings there and it was pretty. The couple got married in front of the lake.

We're doing Burdette (Discovery Lodge) but you're not going to be able to book them until probablt 2012 if you want a Saturday. Your best bet with them would be to ask about Friday nights. The same might be true for West Haven and Kokies.

I've heard of people getting married out in the courtyard next to Casino Aztar. Then you could have the reception inside.

    Sorry I'm not much help.

A place we checked out was Wesselman's Preserve.  They are redoing some things and will not be done until March but, overall it is a beautiful area.  They charge by the amount of people.  We aren't going with them but, the fee for 50 people was quoted to me at $100.  I don't know how much it would be for more.

I am getting married in FL now, but I considered: Burdette (long waiting list) golf courses such as rolling hills, victoria national, oak hill country club, evansville country club, Angel Mounds has plenty of beautiful land for a tent (fyi not too many people think of this place so it should be available-also close to eastside hotels), new harmony is pretty but always books quick, I have seen people even get married at the USI campus by the lake or at the pagoda downtown. Good Luck!
