Does anyone else have gigantic families and little to no money?

We're stressing out really bad.  We just had to call the venue to reserve a larger room because my side of the family 18 and older is just way too large.  The guest list is at 285 and there isn't any way to cut it.

What was supposed to be a 200 person or less wedding has snowballed into a huge money pit.

Does anyone have any creative ideas for saving money?

I understand completely. I have a huge family (9 brothers  and sisters plus their spouses and kids) and a very limited budget.  My FI and I have decided to have a private ceremony with just the family followed by a bbq at a local park.  We were able to rent the gazebo and pavilion for $100 for the whole day!  We are going to have a party after we get home from our honeymoon at a local hall that we can bring our own food into.  Having a party after the honeymoon allows us to invite everyone we want (250+) and make all the food without all the stress of the wedding day.
