Our wedding is in January 2013, and I'm just wondering when invites and rsvp due dates should be. I know people say to send them out about 6-8 weeks before the wedding and have rsvps due about 2-3 weeks before. However, that would mean sending the invites around Thanksgiving and wanting rsvps around New Year's Day. The USPS is swamped then and I'm worried about longer shipping times and stuff getting lost in the mail or with piles of holiday cards. I'd like to send them earlier, so that my rsvps are coming back between Thanksgiving and the December holidays. Is that far too early for a Jan 20 wedding?
