Wedding Invitations & Paper

invation wording question

So my invitations are going to read

Bride's parents
request the honour of your presence
at the marriage of their daughter
Bride first and middle name
to
Groom
son of
Groom's dad
Groom's mom

For the groom's name should it be  Groom's first and middle name or Groom's first, middle, and last name?

Thanks!

Re: invation wording question

  • Two things:

Groom should have Groom's first and middle names

Are the groom's parents married?  If not, I believe the Groom's mom should be listed first, although our fabulous mod might be able to correct me if I'm wrong on this one.

RIP Dr. Irving Fishman - 10/1/19-7/25/10 - thank you for holding on for me.
You made my wedding day complete.
  • If the groom's parents are married and she uses her husband's last name, it would be
Mr. and Mrs. GroomDadFirst Middle Last

If they're married and she doesn't use his name:
Ms. Mom Middle Last and Mr. Dad Middle Last

    If they're not married:
    Ms. Mom Middle Last
    Mr. Dad Middle Last

If they both use the same last name that your FI does then you only need your FI's first and middle name on the invite.  If any of the three of them use a different last name, you should list his first middle last for clarity.

And, thanks for the 'fabulous' comment!
