Invitation Wording for Our Situation

Hi.  Having a hard time finding wording that will reflect our situation. My parents are splitting the cost of the wedding with us.  His parents are not. "Together with our parents, the pleasure of your company is requested..." sounds nice but isn't totally accurate.  Should I just use the traditional "bride's parents as hosts" wording  and skip us as co-hosts?

Thanks in advance!!

Re: Invitation Wording for Our Situation

  • I personally would not include the parents not contributing. Especially if they aren't doing anythin with helping pay, not even the rehearsal dinner. I went with non traditional wording for our wedding invites.

I think it is kind of vague on who paid for anyhting and wont disrespect anyone.

  • Ours say "together with their families..." blah blah blah.  My parents are paying for about half of the wedding and we're paying the other half, but that didn't mean we had to exclude his family from the invitation.  They're still contributing in some way, even if not financially.

    Don't overthink it.
