May 2013 Weddings

Good Morning Ladies

Well my wedding is May 18th 2013 so I have 324 days left. That seems like forever, but the time is just ticking away. I am not sure if you are looking at flowers at this point or not but I found a really great deal at Sam's Club of all places. You can order your flowers and they are delivered all put together all you have to do is trim the stems to the length that you want. I was going to make my own however I have so much going on with everything else (my girls are not being much help) that is one less thing I would have to do at the last minute. Also hobby lobby has all their wedding stuff on sale for 1/2 price. I bought my basket, book, pillow and toss away garter for 25.00 they are kind of plain, but I can fix that with a little bling, I also found my wedding invitations there. I had them printed at office max for ..lol $2.85. 100 invitations bought and printed for $42.85. Just ideas if you are on a budget. Have a great day I am off to work to pay for the wedding.

Costco has similar packages on their flowers too :-)

Your BMs aren't required to help you with that kind of stuff. All they're 'required' to do is get a dress, walk down the aisle and stand at the altar with you. It's great of course if they volunteer to help, but please don't hold it against them. That's not their 'job'.

Thank you for all the tips and information - I'll keep Sam's and Costco in mind for flowers!!  Great job on everything you've accomplished so far :)

  • I picked on already. I thought about those routes, but decided I wont have time and that is too stressful. Plus the flowers I want a florist should handle them. Actually comparing too, I was gonna be spending the same amount at one of the retailers, as I would with a florist. Florist just seems easier too me!

  • Oooh, good heads up. I'm making all of our bouquets, but need to buy bulk smaller flowers for on tables.

<div>This.  I also picked a florist already.  Too much to do on the day of anyway.  I have a bunch of other stuff that we're going to need to set up ourselves as it is.  My FI and I are going to be busy bees getting the space ready before the wedding, let alone getting ourselves ready!</div>

  • I spent about 2 ours in a craft store just playing with the real touch and high quality fake flowers. I have a consultation with a real flower florist and the prices seem comparible BUT I think, at the gasp of my mother, that I'm going the fake route unless the florist wows me. We're doing more of a vintage look since we're getting married at a bed and breakfast so I feel like it's appropiate. My FSIL lucked out with her blood roses that dried perfectly but all my girlfriends didn't have much luck with their bouquets.

However, I may buy the babysbreath from costco simply because I'm making two big wreaths for the entry door and the fake is too hard to work with. Real babysbreath is much cheaper than that of the fake variety.
