after party

I was responding to a post a few minutes ago about leaving the reception and it got me thinking about the after party.  Since most of our friends are OOT and and 99% are staying at the same hotel as us, we are planning on having an 'after party' at the hotel bar.  We're not paying for the drinks or anything, it'll just be a place for people who want to keep the celebration going to meet up.  Is anyone doing anything similar?  If so, I have two questions:
1. What are you wearing?
2. How are you letting your guests know about it?

I don't know, maybe this is too ambitious of me to think I can make it to something like this.  Our wedding starts at 6:30 PM and ends around midnight.  I may be a little cra-cra to think I'll be up to more socializing at this point.  Ha-ha.

I've thought about this too! We're spending our wedding night at the casino in town and thought it might be fun to play a few table games still in our wedding attire before 'bed' :) I think I'll see how the night plays out. If friends of ours want to still do something about the wedding we can mention the casino/casino bar and see what everyone wants to do. FI and I might just want to be alone after such a long day too though so I'm not going to make any definite plans.

Our reception ends at ten and there is a bar on the river that is right next to our venue. We are going to go to this place too. I bought an ivory short party dress from the BCBG outlet for seriously $40! So I will wear that and party it up. I will probably stay semi-sober during the wedding. I don't want to see me have my drunk eyes in pictures. Then I can party then. I think I will just have the DJ make an announcement at the end of the reception.

We are getting married in New Orleans where I'm from so our after party will be to hit Bourbon St. We are spreading the word by word of mouth (my bridal party knows to invite anyone and everyone). As for attire, I bought a short wedding dress as my "Bourbon St" dress and am pairing it with some colorful heels.

There is a small downtown area near our reception venue and near the hotel guests will be staying at that has a few bars. I know my friends are planning to continue the party after our reception ends at 10. We aren't sure if we will join them or just go home to continue our own celebration Wink and we probably won't decide until 9:55 PM at the end of our reception haha. If we do go out then I will wear my dress. I'm worried about getting it too dirty but my mom said "you only get to wear it once, might as well wear it all night!"

Fi wants to go out driving in the sports car we're renting. I will be looking forward to some chill alone time after the day and the reception end at 10. But them we'll see a lot of people at my nieces baptism the next day.

This is a must in my family.  :)  We require a space that will allow us to continue the party, as well as play flip cup and beer pong.  (for flip cup, we play over 30 vs. under 30)

In other words, it's something we look for in a reception venue.  My venue is basically a resort/hotel, so we'll just be in the hotel's bar.  We won't be paying for drinks (we might bring some, but when that's gone, people will buy their own) and continue the party.

I will be wearing my wedding dress because gosh darn it, I paid enough for that thing I am going to wear it as long as I can. I'm even thinking I might start doing the dishes and vacuuming with it on.  :)
