Dessert Vs. Candy Table at Reception

Hi Brides!

We are trying to figure out what other sweets to offer our guests besides the traditional cake.  It seems like candy tables with DIY grabbags reminiscent of Willy Wonka's chocolate factory are trending right now.  Or we thought about having a table with a variety of desserts (cheesecake, cookies, brownies, etc). How have these gone over at your wedding? What would you prefer to see at a reception?

Re: Dessert Vs. Candy Table at Reception

  • I had a cookie table with to-go bags, as many Pgh brides did.  The majority of my guests were from out of town, but the cookies were a big hit.  I had maybe only a couple dozen left over at the end of the night

  • Cookies are good.  My fiance and I are big popcorn fans, we are planning a popcorn bar at our wedding.  Different flavored popcorns.
  • We did both. We had a candy buffet and we also had a cookie/cake table. Our package with Signature Desserts came with our wedding cake and 8 other cakes, or guests LOVED it!
