Last fall, I decided to go with a custom dress, and it's been in the works. After the last fitting, I wasn't too crazy about it, so I sent the dressmaker some pictures of what I would like changed. She said no problem and would have those things added in for my next fitting at the end of March.
Today was the Vera Wang sample sale in NYC (literally a few blocks from my apt), so I thought, "what could it hurt to go over there and check it out?". An hour later, I surrounded by these beautiful Vera Wang gowns, one catches my eye, I take it to the dressing room. It fits like a glove (only minor alterations would be needed), and it's 75% off. I'm in love. In it, I feel like a bride, which is something I didn't feel in my other dress - and it's a Vera Wang dress for $800!
So, I bought it...not sure what I'm going to do with my custom dress, but at the end of the month, if I feel better about it, I can always resell the Vera Wang (but then I'd probably be even crazier...)
