It did that to me at first too, but when it takes you to the account page, you have to set it up as if you were new. I think there's a "get started" link to click on when it directs you to your account. Enter your info (name etc) you don't have to create a profile or anything, and hit "submit" that should be all you have to do to start posting on TN. I think they just want to confirm that you are the same person and if you need to make changes (i.e. new name) you can do that then.

I tried to submit my stuff and it went through but I still can't post anything. Nothing changed. It's frustrating!!
