Oscars!

How was everyone's weekend??  I had to work but mostly from home, which is a rare treat for a lab scientist.  The oscars were probably my weekend's highlight.

Soo Oscars - Did you watch?  Thoughts on fashion/winners/the show in general?

I thought Anne Hathaway and James Franco did an ok job hosting, but I definitely prefer a comedian.  James looked angry most of the night... it was weird.

I missed the red carpet, so I have no thoughts on that - I thought natalie portman looked great and I liked a few of Anne's dresses.

I kinda wanted the social network to win best picture, but I figured it was a longshot.  I <3 colin firth, so I was glad to see him win.

Lol! I guess I didn't see your GM post!! oops! Here is mine:

    Good Morning Ladies!
I had a pretty good weekend! Friday night FI worked so I went over the FILs house for dinner. Saturday morning I went grocery shopping then FI headed to work and I headed to KOP to meet up with my girlfriend there! We had a blast shopping! She then came back to my apt with me and we met up with my other girlfriend for dinner at a yummy Chinese restaurant nearby. We all went back to my place and slaved away on my invites! lol - we made some real progress! We got 50 COMPLETELY done! woohoo!

Yesterday FI and I went to lunch then walked around Willow Grove mall for a while then just headed back to our place. I had an assignment due today so I worked on that. I also worked on the invites a bit more and got another 25 so total of 75 100% done! That means 125 to go! Hopefully I get them done soon!

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

    Good Morning!!!

I watched most of the Oscars, but started falling asleep around 10:30, so I missed all the good awards. :)

I love James Franco, but he always looks like a stoner to me, so it was funny having him host. I loved Marissa Tomei's dress, Haley (from True Grit) dress, who else... hmmm... I need to relook at pics, I can't remember.

My weekend was pretty good. On Friday, FI and I ordered Mediterranean and hung out, on Saturday, we went for lunch and to play shuffle board with our BM and his lady (who is doing a reading at the wedding) which was fun, then yesterday FI and I headed to Michael's so I could see what escort cards they had (none) and what else they had wedding related. The more I look at stuff, I think the more I am destined not to do anything DIY. :)

MD- glad you got to do some work at home
G- Sounds like you had a great weekend, and I'm so glad that your invites are coming along!

Oh and as for the Oscars, I watched them and thought they were great! I agreee that James Franco looked miserable or something - it was strange! But I think Anne Hathaway did a wonderful job!

As for the fashion there some really great looks! My favs included:

Mandy Moore - I ADORED her red carpet Monique dress!! To die for!
Halle Berry - she always looks amazing, but her Marchesa dress was beyond stunning
Haley Steinfeld - She's so adorable and her Marchesa dress was stunning!
Amy Adams - She looked SO gorgeous in sequined L'Wren Scott gown! The blue looked fabulous on her!
Guiliana Rancic - I LOVED her Christian Siriano gown she wore while reporting for E!

And I also adored the grey/black Vivienne Westwood gown that Anne Hathaway wore while hosting (I think it was her 3rd or 4th change?)

    Worst:
Nicole Kidman - Her face/makeup and hair were gorgeous, but the dress... not so much
hmm... and I honestly don't think I hated any of the other dress! lol

I liked Amy Adams dress, but I didn't like the green jewelry, too much. I would've liked either no jewelry or just silver.

    Hi all!

Well I was still sick on Friday, so I didn't go to work. I was scheduled to go dress shopping in MD with my mom, aunt, and cousin though. So I managed to get my stuff together that afternoon and drive the 4 hours to MD.

We went to a shop called Betsey Robinson outside Baltimore, and I found my wedding gown :-) So excited! It was only there that day as it was part of a trunk show (which also means we were able to get 10% off!)

I'm a little sad that check is done, as I love dress shopping. Part of me wishes I looked a few more places, but the dress was beautiful on me and my cousin cried, so I had to get it :-) You can see it in my other post

Needless to say though, I didn't watch the oscars... I don't really watch the awards shows anymore. I prob haven't watched one in 3 or 4 years.

    GM!

    I didn't watch the Oscars, so I can't play :(

But, we had a good weekend. Went to the outlets on Saturday and did some serious damage. And I worked yesterday. FI twisted his ankle on Saturday, so he's been a little pitiful all weekend :P

Other than that, I don't really have much else going on. I still haven't heard about a job yet, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. for that.

Love Natalie Portman!  I agree - Anne and James did okay - I thought she did better than he...he really did look pretty angry at times, or just like he wasn't interested in being there.  (maybe that's just him...)

Poor Gwyneth...that was just painful to watch :(

I think FI and I have finally narrowed down our guest list and picked out what we need to order from cards and pockets...but that's about all we did that is wedding related this weekend.  Hope everyone has a great week!
