Does anyone know if you have to have your birth certificate to change your name at the social security office? Their website doesn't give a straight answer.

    no, just your original license that has been filed or a certified copy

    I brought it with me, and I think he may have glanced at it, but he didn't even look at my old SSN card or DL. He paid more attention to the marriage license and paperwork that I filled out from the SSA website. I figured that it would be better to take everything that I might need just in case so that I wouldn't be sent away for not having it.
