I grew up in Racine, but we are getting married in Milwaukee. How big are you planning for your wedding, guest list wise? You have a lot of options depending on the size.

We are getting married in Racine on 10.3.2014.  Our reception will be at the Marriott.  We have booked a photographer through Ari Photography out of Milwaukee.  There was a $50 travel fee but we really liked the photographer and they have a deal going on that ends soon so we just booked him.
I've heard many good things about Barb DeRose for the cake.  We have not met with her yet but a few people have given me her name.  I've heard she does a fresh cake on your one year anniversary so you don't have to worry about freezing one.
Music on the Move was recommended to us, also, but we have not met with them yet.
I have no idea on florists or anything else.

We used Infusino's for catering.  We did family style, and they had great prices and food!  The food we had was salad, veggie, Italian bread, baked chicken, prime rib, and masstacolli with both Italian sausage and meatballs. But, I know they have other packages as well.  The only thing to know is that there are additional plate and linen rental fees if you do not use their halls.

We also used Greatest Story Photography who is great and has great prices as well.  They are based out of Racine too.

    Good luck with your planning!!

Thank you ladies! =) I will look into both photographers. The catering is provided with the venue so I have that out of the way. What types of bars are or did you use? full open or partial cash (liquor)? and did any of you use a videographer? I'm still debating that one!

The Marriott includes a one hour open bar with a few appetizers as part of their wedding package.  After that hour we will have beer and soda but not a full open bar.  We are not using a videographer, actually I didn't even think of that!

We are doing an open bar: beer, wine, and rail liquors. We are also using a videographer. I strongle recommend Sweet Pea Cinema. Their prices are really competitive, and we are really pleased with Cindy and Dean so far! Their work looks great too!<div>If you are still looking for a DJ, I highly recommend Double Platinum DJ. Bill is great, and his service is unbelievable!!</div>

I wasn't going to use a videographer until I realized the point that was made to me... I wouldn't be able to watch my own wedding! Lol none of the people walking down the aisle or everyone's reaction. I'm leaning towards one now but they are so expensive!! I will check out that DJ too. I am in need of all of my vendors yet and can't decide on who to use! I know I have a little while until the wedding yet but it's prime wedding season so I want first pick lol..

I just had beer and soda, with a cash bar for hard liquor.  I did have a videographer as well, but it was my cousin who lives in LaCrosse who gave me a great deal!  But, I do recommend it, that day went by so fast and it is great to go back and see it all again!  Also, just an idea, but our videographer also came over and interviewed us after the wedding about us, i.e, how we met, how we got engaged, etc.  And then a "chapter" of the DVD is our interview mixed in with clips of our wedding and music.  Just a nice touch!
