Tipping for hair trial?

Do you typically tip for the trial version of your hair style? I am hoping to try out 2 different looks.

    I tipped $10 for my trial - because I like what she did and she was very patient with me when I wanted to changed things. Plus, I'm using her for my wedding day, so I wanted her to know she's appreciated.

    I didn't.  I didn't think I needed to and I'm pretty sure she was the owner.

    I tipped 30 bucks...I felt bad that she spent an hour of her time and didn't want anything
