Looking for Barn Venues for the Reception

I am living in LA, but looking to get married in either upstate NY or the Kentucky/Tennessee area. My fiance and I are both from upstate NY, but my extended family is from Louisville, KY and my fiance and I lived in Memphis for about a year and a half. That being said, we are very open to where we get married since we can't afford to get married in California/most people won't be able to make it out here. Our dream wedding is an outdoor ceremony with the reception in a barn setting. Online searches are minimal and it seems that word of mouth works better. My parents are giving us $20,000 and my fiance's parents are paying for the rehersal dinner, so we are trying really hard to stay within that budget for everything. Any advice would help!! Thanks in advance!

Mint Springs Farms!!!! It's my venue and it is spectacular! It's an all-inclusive, so it will be great since you are out of town. Act quickly though. They are booking up!

The Wren's Nest in Murfreesboro, TN. It's a newer venue therefore you could get a heck of a deal i'm sure. I grew up in that town and loved it! It's only 30 min from Nashville which is nice. Also, the Barn at Cedar Grove. It's in Kentucky, but absolute perfection as far as barn weddings are considered in my opinion. They add new things to the venue all the time so it's a growing progress!

I'm way late on this, but I just saw your post. If you are at all interested in the Tri-Cities region, there are quite a few nice barn/farm venues and most things here are a bit more affordable than other areas of the state. Your $20,000 will go far.

Off the top of my head I can think of:
    Storybrook Farm in Jonesborough
Barn at Boone Falls in Boones Creek
    Maple Lane Farm in Jonesborough
    Allandale Mansion in Kingsport
The Lodge at Clyde Austin 4-H Center, Greeneville

    There are several others ...
