Weekend plans

Morning ladies! Happy Friday!

This weekend FI and I have some things to finish for the wedding. We have to finish making our song selections for the DJ, cut the welcome bag tags and inserts, finish shopping for gifts. There's not a ton to do, just little odds and ends stuff. We also are going to finish shopping and pack for our HM!

Last night I had my final dress fitting and my dress fits perfectly now so that's exciting! Ignore my face, please.

What do you have going on this weekend?

Re: Weekend plans

  • Wow the dress looks so amazing on you! Are you taking any time off next week before the weekend?

Tonight I'm going to my sorority sister's house to cook some chili for tomorrow. My sorority does a chili cook off to raise money for their philanthropy so a few of the alumnae including myself entered in the competition. So hopefully it turn outs good lol.

Saturday I'll probably go running in the morning and then the chili cook off starts that afternoon. After that my FI and I are going to go to our favorite sports bar because a little over a year ago when we were just in the early stages of dating he came to the cook off and took me to that sports grill afterwards. Then we need to go to Macy's to put a few more things on our registry that we forgot about.

Sunday is pretty relax. We have church in the morning and then I don't know what we will do. I want to go hiking so if the weather is nice I may convince FI to go hike with me.
  • Oh, rdr, you look so beautiful in your dress!

Tonight I'm going to gaming, as usual for Fridays.

Tomorrow my parents are coming up to town, and apparently we're going out to dinner. If I have time I'm going to my brother's GF's flute recital.

Sunday is chill. At some point this weekend I have to tackle an absolutely massive amount of housework - how can one small apartment generate this amount of cleaning and laundry? It boggles the mind.
  • I love you in your dress.  I can't wait to see you in EIGHT DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm working all weekend.  I have a 4:30 meeting this afternoon, then conference starts tomorrow morning with a board meeting at 9.  I have a reception tomorrow night, a reception Sunday night, and then Monday night is our banquet.  Tuesday morning we have breakfast on the Hill, and then I'm having lunch with a friend.

Please for good vibes that this all goes well.

  • rdr you look beautiful!

Tonight, we're doing a "lava lounge" after work - A couple of the guys turned a few cubicles into the "lava lounge" with mini fridges and louge furniture. I need to go pick up a 6 pack during lunch :) Today is 6 yrs with the BF but he has to work all weekend, so we went out for Chinese food last night and he surprised me with a card AND flowers! :)

Tomorrow, I'm working at the grocery store fom 6:30 am until the afternoon (hopefully they're cutting hours!). I like working there, but I really hope that my promotion goes through in June/July so I can quit and have *gasp!!* two days off a week!  My brother and I are probably going to set up my mom's iPod for Mothers Day so it's ready to go when she opens it and have a spaghetti dinner!

Sunday is my first 5K ever! ahhh!!!! Then I think we're going out for a late lunch afterwards. Then I'm taking a bath and finishing HPGoF in it, however long it takes!

  • still love your dress!  beautiful.

tonight we were going to the arts festival downtown, but it's going to be rained out!  instead we are going to take it easy...  I really need a break.  we've been overscheduled since mid-March.  so tonight we're going to a little Greek/Italian place (where you invariably end up for 2+ hours...  it's slow, but wonderful!) and then grabbing our weekly groceries.  if I haven't fallen asleep out of pure exhaustion by 10 PM, we might grab a movie.

Saturday we are working in the yard... H is planting a new tree, and I'm trimming bushes and planting some flowers on the porch.  if we wake up early enough, we might hop over to the farmer's market!

we have our Spanish-speaking service on Saturday night as usual, and then regular church on Sunday.  we have a special Kids' Fest Day Sunday morning, so I'll be helping with that.
  • You look great in your dress rdr! I love it!!!  I am so tired but the weekend will be even more tiring.
Tonight I have to be at the theater, FI will be cleaning the new home and prepping it for painting.  Tomorrow we will be up early awaiting the delivery of our new dishwasher and fridge.  Meanwhile doing more cleaning and painting.  Later in the afternoon's I have my neice's birthday party and then we're also heading out to dinner to celebrate.  She will be 6. Time flies!!!

Sunday I'm going to a bridal show to check out a venue, it's right near the church so it would be nice if it was available and had great food.  We'll see.  FI's parents are also coming up on Sunday to help us with home stuff, so I'll probably go to the bridal show with FMIL. Then the rest of the day will be spent painting the new home.

Our kitchen is being painted Bold Sangria by Behr
Our entertaiment room is being painted Blue Aura by Behr
and the master bedroom is being painted a green by Behr I forget the name though....

    RDR, you look gorgeous!

I work 7a-7p both days this weekend. *sad face* It's a good thing I love my job, but still that's a long time to be on my feet. On the happy side, BF is gonna come over tomorrow night and fix dinner for when I get home, and we'll probably have a nice quiet reading date.
  • rdr - You look gorgeous

peek - good vibes for the event!

sydaries - good luck with your 5k! Let us know how it goes.

    My weekend looks like this:
Friday night - Take Toby for a 1 hour walk to shake out my legs. Eat dinner that DH has prepared. We invited one of our friends over because his wife is out of town. Go to bed early.
Saturday - Do 7-8 mile run, meet JenJen and Mr. JenJen for brunch and wine (NOM!). Maybe walk through some downtown stores and do some shopping. Finish getting my niece's birthday present.
Sunday - Drive to Richmond for my niece's 5th birthday party. I cannot believe she's that old! Drive home.

  • rdr your dress looks gorgeous!

peek I'll keep the good vibes going for you for a successful weekend!

Everyone sounds like they're going to have a fun weekend!

Tonight, I'm going to drink wine and cook on the grill. I'm also toying with the idea of making some sangria as well for the next week. Tomorrow I have a follow up eye doctor appt and then a hair appointment. If I get out in enough time I might mow the yard and kill some awful weeds that are coming up around the pool, I thought they were pretty at first (they are some weird purple flowers) but now they have just taken over. Sunday I'll clean and do laundry, take the fur baby to Petco to get cat food for Buddy and some foam mint breath freshener for my parent's dog.

rdr you look amazing in your dress! Have a wonderful pre-wedding weekend and week.

Tonight I'm petsitting while my parents go to a play with some friends. One of their dogs needs medication at a very specific time every day so she really can't be left unsupervised. Our doggie date is going to include a trip to PetSmart, a walk on a local "greenway" path, and possibly a bath (fun for golden retrievers but not for me hah).

BF and I are going to drive around the neighborhood of the house we have under contract tomorrow. We want to get a feel for what the area is like on weekends and get a better internal map of the nearest grocery stores, parks, restaurants, etc. BF got the loan application started the other day and he scheduled an inspection for Tuesday so things are starting to come together. As long as nothing super scary shows up on the inspection I think everything else is going to be a green light through to closing so yay!

  • RDR- You look so beautiful!

I'm just hoping I don't have to work this weekend...I'm exhausted from working from 6/7 a.m. to 9/10 p.m. all week.
  • rdr - Your dress is beautiful!! How was FLEETWOOD MAC?!?! I've been dying to know.

Syd - Those flowers are gorgeous! I'm a sucker for chinese food :) Sounds like you've got a keeper, for sure!

Danser - YAY NEW HOUSE!! I actually googled the colors you're painting. They're awesome!

Tonight is BF's sisters 18th birthday. We stayed up late literally filling her car with balloons. I have a surprise party planned for her tonight, so after my half day at work (!!!) I'll be running around trying to finish presents and whatnot.

Saturday we're helping my dad finish moving, probably going hiking again in the canyon, and maybe some yard work. Then we'll go running, out on a date, and sleepin'!

Sunday we hit the early service for church, then breakfast with my pops. We'll probably be lazy and smoke weed all day out by the pool, then go make dinner at my moms and watch GoT.

    Tada!

  • Tonight: making a delicious dinner of manicotti, salad, and fresh bread, and enjoying it with a bottle of wine.

Tomorrow: Going to a new gyno in the morning. Ugh. I need a new BCP prescription and I'm going to ask for what my sister gets, because it's only $10 per month out of pocket (mine is $100). After that I'm going to drive out to Long Island and go see some cars for sale, yay! I'll probably hang out with my mama for a little bit before dirving back home. Saturday night I'd reeeaaally like to go out in the city. I'm going to have to convince BF that it's okay if we leave our pup alone for a few hours. She will NOT pull the cone off of her head and she will NOT rip her stitches out. She'll probably just sleep. He needs to take a chill pill.

Sunday: I'm hoping we buy a grill. We saw a bunch of well-priced ones at Home Depot last night, but BF wants to do some research on his own before buying. I'm going to make him do that for the next two days so we can buy one by the end of the weekend. We're having people over next weekend for a party, and I'd really like him to practice his BBQ skills a few times before then.

Lol he's stepping it up! I mean, he didn't get me anything for my birthday (not even a card :( ), but he did take me out ot eat, and when I told him I was upset he got Valentines day (where he also got me flowers) and my birthday mixed up. He's definitely trying after that one!

Now to just convince him that Church isn't as terrible as he thinks it is, then he'll be perfect :). He was't baptized and only went with his Grandparents sometimes until when he was 3 or 4 and thinks it's this boring, terrible thing and the only other times he's been have been for weddings or funerals. I'm going to force him to watch The Bible series at some point so he can see my pov and understand why it's important to me.

And you sound like you'd make an awesome brother's GF!

  • So right after I posted my OP, my company blocked all of the TK message boards. I am not happy. Thank you all so much for the sweet words! KM: Fleetwood was really great!! Lindsey Buckingham is unbelievably amazing.

  • RDR- gorg as usual!!  I can't wait for the after AW

Tonight we are going downtown for our first NIOSA (Night Out In Old San Antonio) it's part of Fiesta week which is apparently a really big thing here.

Tomorrow we are going back to Macy's to get a tie for FI.  We managed to get a suit, shirt and shoes for him for the wedding for under $300 Score!  Later we are going out for pizza with a group of friends.

Sunday we are going to the flea market so that I can find some more of my blue jars.  They are EVERYWHERE here.

Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend even if you are working!

  • Aaaaand I just found out I have to work this weekend.  I'm grumpy and sleep-deprived.  Grrr.
  • Rdr - your dress is so beautiful! And you look amazing!

My weekend plans are pretty open right now. BF is coming up to see me and we'll probably go out with friends either tonight or tomorrow night. I also have 3 different papers to write and I haven't started any of them so that is probably going to take up my Sunday.

  • Wow! That is a beautiful dress!

It's my BF's birthday on sunday so I'll be taking him out to dinner, pretending to be enthralled by the inner working of Magic the card game, and basically doing what ever he wants.

Saturday, I'm filming my in case of emergency video. Which will be slightly awkward.

  • Basically, it's a video you record and store on your computer. It's in case of things like comas or dying. You record some stuff about your wishes in case you aren't there to say them at the time. And you tell everyone you love them and stuff you want them to remember that you thought about them. So if anything goes wrong in the future, there is a video they can watch for support from you.

That is the most confusing explanation ever but I hope it somewhat makes sense. I am recording mine this weekend. I'll briefly remind my bf to distribute my heirloom jewelry to my sisters, tell him it's okay to fall in love (when I've died) and a few other things. It's kinda sad to think about needing it, but if we do, I'll feel better that I've recorded one.
  • You look great in your dress! The day is getting so very close now.

This weekend FI and I are driving up to Napa for my bridal shower. And then I may or may not keep going up to Oregon to give something to a friend that I can't really ship. Still thinking on that.
