Bridal Shower Venues

Have you found it to be more cost effective to have a shower at someone's house or park, or to have it at a restaurant?   I was thinking of renting a tent and having it at Schenley Park or somewhere... but by the time we'd rent the tent, tables and chairs it seems like it might be expensive.  I already have plates, silverware, glasses and linens that I've purchased for our wedding, so we could use those and get an extra use out of them.  But the tables and chairs are still a lot.   Does anyone know of any lower priced venues?

Just a thought, I'd be concerns about using the linens you are going to use for your wedding before the wedding. What if they get stained ? But that's just me.
