Snarky Brides
Options

Hi Ladies, I'm kinda new!

I've been on TK for a while, and posted a bit on the October 2013 and Detroit boards, but I'm a bit snarky so I thought I'd say hello!

While I'm on the topic of being snarky... Since when is doing a Dollar Dance a big deal? I've never been to a wedding without one. Everyone seems to have fun with it, and until I joined wedding boards, I never knew people thought it was rude. I plan on doing one at our wedding, and I personally don't care if people don't like it. No one is forcing anyone into it!

Hitting guests up for money is tacky. Plus tucking money into a dancing lady's clothes remind me of strippers. That's my thoughts on it. Not a 'big deal', but nose wrinkle worthy.

<div>Then I guess I'm tacky! I don't see it as "hitting guests up for money" because no one is forcing them into it. I participate *HAPPILY* in the dollar dance at EVERY wedding I go to. And I've never, ever put money in the bride's dress. There has always been a bridesmaid with a basket or bag for the money. </div>

The bum on the street corner isn't forcing you to give him money either, but it doesn't make the street any prettier, or more comfortable to walk by.

I attended a wedding with a dollar dance once.

I didn't want to participate since I knew the bride better than I knew the groom. Alas, I was pressured into joining in and paying $2 to dance with the groom. The bridesmaid wouldn't take "No, thank you" as an answer.

It was awkward and uncomfortable for everyone involved and the worst money I ever spent.

This board is a bit too snarky for me, and that's saying something...

I'm open to differing opinions, but I'm not ok with someone comapring my choices to that of a homeless person begging for change.

    With that, peace out, Knotties.

Yes. If we would have all said "OMG I love the dollar dance! Its such a great idea" she probably would have come back.

Uh, I can still see this post...

Everyone is entitled to their own opinions. The issue I have is when someone compares something to a homeless person begging for change. That's not expressing a difference in opinion. That's deliberately being mean.

I wouldn't tell someone that they look fat in what they're wearing. If they asked for an opinion, I would say that I think they can find something more flattering.

There's a difference between being opinionated and being rude.

A hilarious bar brawl? I saw that once, in Southie (South Boston) on St. Patrick's Day.

50 dudes in kilts puking green puke and hiting each other with pool sticks.  Hi-lar-ious.
