Having a cake?

Hi Ladies,

We're getting married this Sept. in North Andover, and I haven't decided on doing a cake or more of a dessert table. What can I expect to pay for a 2 tier cake?

Re: Having a cake?

  • Places usually charge by the slice.  I think cakes typically start at $3.50 a slice.  We had cupcakes and they were included with our venue.
  • We are skipping the cake and doing passed bite-sized desserts instead. The servers will pass them like hors d'oeuvres so guests don't have to stop dancing to eat. We want people up and around after dinner! We didn't price out a cake but if it really is about $3.50 a slice, the cake might be less expensive.

love this idea, I will have to look into it!

Does anyone know what a typical cupcake charge is, if we were to go that route instead? FH isn't big into cake, so I'm thinking enough cupcakes for our guests in our 2 favorite flavors. (Chocolate peanut butter and strawberry cheesecake.) We're inviting about 160

No cake.. We are doing cake pops, mini cannoli's, mini cheesecake's etc. I see to many cakes get thrown out at the end of the night. People are more inclined to take these home than cake at the end of the night. That way no waste:)
