The H Suite

Hi Everyone,
My wedding was originally scheduled for April 2013 ceremony at Mandalay Bay with an in suite reception in a Vista Suite. We had to push the wedding to April 2014 because we just purchased a new home. With that being said the ceremony will still be held at Mandalay Bay and I would like to do an in suite reception in the H Suite. My question is - is it just as easy to have an in suite reception in the H suite as it is in the Vista Suite. Will I still be able to vendors make deliveries? Is the H suite large enough for 25 people? Also THEhotel seems like it may be a little more laid back  - do you think its ok for an in suite reception? Last question are there any reviews of receptions in the H suite? Thanks in advance!!!!

Re: The H Suite

  • You'll be fine in an H Suite.  However, if you can, try calling them and getting them to give you an L suite for the same price.  The L suite is not listed on their website but adds an 'office' which basically adds about 200 sq ft to the room right in the middle and makes an excellent place for vendors to set up their food stations.  Here's a review and pictures of the L suite:

If you see where the office portion is, you can just cut that out and you'll have an H suite.  It's more than enough for 25 either way, just always nice to have more room if you can get it.

You'll have the same easy entry for vendors in either hotel, just don't ask the bell hops to take bags from one side to the other, for whatever reason they get really nervous about doing that.

  • I believe they're priced about the same from what I've heard; ours cost whatever I lost at the craps table since the casino picked it up. Laughing

  • Just curious, but vegasgroom, have you heard of anyone doing their reception in the vista suites and pulling it off recently. I've been scanning posts because I thought someone was doing their own in suite reception in a vista around this time and I was just curious how it went. We are doing ours in Vista in June and I'm getting a lil nervous. lol
  • I believe it happens a lot more frequently than what you necessarily see on TK since there are other wedding websites that also have Vista people.  I haven't heard much bad lately, other than it being later than 4pm when the room has been ready and that it's sometimes hit or miss if the room feels 'old' or not.
