Our officiant is a friend of my future in laws. Neither fianc or I really know him. He told us and in laws that the ceremony would be his gift to us. Should we still contribute to his church or give a gift? I don't want to give him a gift and make him think we "cancelled out" his gift to us, if that makes sense. I also dislike the idea of not giving him anything.
