Did I B-List?!?!

Due to a drastic change in plans (moved date from October 2014 to June 2013), we frantically sent out save-the-dates before we had a complete guest list.  (Our save the dates were sent out before we had a venue confirmed or anything finalized other than the date and the city - we just ordered a random number of save the dates and started mailing them to out of town friends and family).  We did, however, actually have a finalized guest list (everyone who received a save the date plus other family and friends) prior to ordering invitations, so all the invitations are going out at the same time.  So, not everyone who is receiving an invitation will have received a save-the-date.  Are those people who didn't receive a save-the-date going to feel b-listed? If so, is there anything I can do about it?

Ugh.  Had never even heard of b-listing before I found this website. Now I'm horrified that I might have done it.

Re: Did I B-List?!?!

  • No, that is not B-listing. Everyone who receives an STD must receive an invitation, but not the other way around.
  • We didn't give STDs to everyone.
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

  • You're fine. We only sent STDs to our out of town guests and some local VIPs. As long as you send all the invites at the same time you aren't b-listing.

  • Nope. We only sent STDs to the people we knew for a fact wouldn't get cut from the guest list, since STD = invitation.

Not everyone sends STDs, so I don't think anything of it if I receive a wedding invitation but didn't get an STD. I just figure the couple didn't send them.
