Grooms Cake

First Anniversary 5 Love Its First Comment Name Dropper

My FI has been sworn in to the Marines, but he's in a delayed entry program and won't leave for boot camp until after the wedding. Even though he won't consider himself a Marine until after boot camp (I completely understand why), would it be okay to do a Marine Corps signal for his grooms cake or should I steer away from it?

    I personally don't see a problem with it. I'm having a navy sailor cake topper and FI won't be shipped out for boot camp until after the wedding as well.

    No, it would not be appropriate.  He will not earn the privilege of using those symbols or the title of Marine until he graduates.

    I agree with ILOVEMYTXRGR - I wouldn't do it. He will not be a Marine until he graduates bootcamp.
