Wedding Woes

Friday

What's up for the weekend?

The day started with such promise.  6let and M2 slept until 630!  We came down I poured milk and coffee.  We were going to go to the park, but everything is wet so I was thinking zoo.  Then trouble.  Max woke up early.  I was coming down the steps and fell the last 6ish steps.  I hit my back and elbow pretty hard, but baby is fine.

Tomorrow is ball and bday lunch.  Sunday is the parish picnic.

Re: Friday

  • Oh man.  That sucks!   I hope you're not too sore the rest of the day.

We are spending the weekend at home getting ready for our party next weekend.

DefConn has another ear infection, but seems to be OK.  I took him to the sitter this morning and he was happy to be there and playing/eating normally.  IDK what we're going to do about his frequent EI's.  Our doc is pretty conservative and would rather wait them out and see if things improve with the weather getting better instead of going the ENT/tubes route.  DH and I feel pretty torn about it.

The kiddo forgot his lunch, so I may have to run it to him at school.  DH forgot to bring our growlers with him for $5 fill up day at our favorite local brewery.  ::shakes fist::

Poor defconn.  If you don't need a referral for insurance, I might make the appt anyway.  I have heard about trying to wait through summer, but speech and hearing are important right now too.

@6fsn - I'm glad you are ok.  Falling down the stairs is not a great way to start the day.

    @mrs.conn23 - Ugh.  Poor baby

Our weekend is pretty normal - shopping and baseball.

ETA:  I forgot.  DH and I have an appointment with a travel agent to talk about our Disney trip.  We're curious to see if she can get deals we can't.

  • 6, that is quite scary, I am glad to hear you're okay, baby too of course.

Conn---your dr is convinced he'll grow out of it with season changes?  Hmmm.

Race this weekend!!!  And, I'm just gonna say it:  I want to win my category, which isn't terribly speedy but I saw last year was won in a time I know I can beat.  Now, just to relax, fuel and roll/stretch tonight.  AYEEEIEEEE.

I have to pick up my packet tonight, and I'm trying to plan around it being that it's across town and yeah it's not that far, but with after work traffic?  B*tch of a situation.

Also, I'm sad we can't swear anymore.  Wahhh.

Saturday we're shopping for H's bday.  I want to buy him some new clothes, I just hope he finds things he likes.  Sunday?  Mowing.  Not sure.
  • I'm volunteering Sat and a work friend is having a birthday party that night. Sunday, I'm going to church and doing some form of exercise. Probably walking outside.

I don't have any plans tonight. Maybe I'll go grab a drink. I asked a friend to go, but she can't make it.

<please be sharing tips on how to make new friends at this stage in life>

    Internet cheers for O!
  • NOLA, though it pains me to admit it, Meetup was really helpful for me.  I was able to find a couple of groups with like minded people, ran into the same people at a couple of groups and have made at least 4 friends that I hang with outside the groups.  I'm also seriously considering joining a competitive womens chorus here, b/c 5 of the women are in one of my groups.  One of the groups is also really really social, they have something going on every week.  Honestly, I wish I'd done it earlier.

GO O, GO!!!  :)  Yes, I hate packet pickup.

We're pulling out all the camping gear and basically camping in the backyard this weekend to make sure everything works.  I'm also testing some of the trail recipes I found to see if we like them, to carry on the trail so we don't have to eat bar food.  which will lead to GI distress.  Which is a HUGE interference on the trail.  :D  Another 20 mile bike ride, yoga and laundry.
  • Tonight, we need to buy some damn groceries.  And I might make DH go to BRU.

Tomorrow: ALS walk followed by grilling with some friends, who are going to help us do some stuff around the house (it's payback for two bathroom and a basement remodel)

Sunday: ZOO!  We're stopping by Smashburger on the way home.

  • Tonight I'm doing barf covered laundry and folding and putting away the ton of laundry I did the other night. Then I'm going to start adding the finish to my clothes pin dolls.

tomorrow morning I'm cleaning like a fiend. Tomorrow afternoon one of our campmates is coming over to visit us (he's from the CA branch of our camp).

    Sunday I have no idea.
  • Glad you're ok!

Weekend schedule consists of chores around the house, preparation for Chicago for brother's wedding next weekend, and a bit of work on our own wedding (ie, FI has to finish listing who he feels we should invite from his side of the family).

There will be some walks thrown in, some kitty cuddling, and potentially seeing the new Star Trek film.

I'm so boring and I love it!

  • V, I've started looking this week for some groups. I'll keep you posted.

  • Eh, probably need to do a good housecleaning at some point. Convert DD's crib to a big girl bed. Oh, also talking with Blizzard tonight to finalize that resume, and get that sucker out the door.

  • Good luck.  I know it's scary to put yourself out there.  I think I spent more time dressing myself for those first few meetups than I'd spent in years probably.  It was as bad as a first date.  But, it's been totally worth it.
  • Bliz is awesome with Resumes, Dharma.

And fun to talk to.  But I'm sure she thought I was a twit.
  • She had a totally different voice than I thought she would.  IDK really what I thought she was going to sound like, but I was all....Oh...THAT'S you?  :)  We giggled all through my resume and DH's.
  • I tried to be professional, but my personality leans toward polyanna/sillypants more than anything.

She does sound very serious, but she's great at what she does.  That is for sure.

Today I have the dentist then I'm picking up DS from daycare when I'm done. Saturday I have no idea what we'll do in the AM. DH has a work bowling event and he offered to take DS leaving me home alone. I'm debating going with them or going to the Carter's store and looking for baby clothes. Sunday were going to work on cleaning our garage and the house.

Tomorrow we're going to try to stop by a local festival to let DD ride a few rides and eat some festival food.   Then DD and I are going to my mom's to go through stuff for a garage sale we're having next weekend.  We're going to have a girls night and stay over with my mom.  Sunday - no plans.  But I've really been wanting to go to a particular park by our house to take some photos of DD, so if the weather's nice, we might do that.
  • my sister is visiting until Tuesday, so we'll be running around doing touristy things all weekend.

We're going to go shopping today - not sure if we're headed to the outlets, one of the regular malls, or the Galleria. We'll probably hit one of the museums and/or the aquarium over the weekend - it's already too hot for the zoo. We're planning to go to NASA on Monday.

Conn -I'm going to second (6's?) suggestion that you take DefConn to the ENT if you're not required to get a referral first -or push your pedi for one if you are. It's not going to hurt to get a second opinion from a specialist. Have you don't allergy testing? If he's allergy prone, it may make him feel even worse as the weather gets better. Seeing ENT =/= surgery.
  • We're leaning toward seeing an ENT.   We didn't get a chance to really talk about it last night, but we're home together all weekend and will most likely discuss what we're going to do.

I'm not sure if we need a referral or not.  I'm sure we can look that up online.
