Taxes and Service Charges ?!

We just got a proposal for a venue and I calculated that the "Price inclusive taxes and service charge" is 27%!!! Holy *****

Is this normal? I mean the wedding is expensive as it is without essentially tipping 27% on it, and that's not even considered a tip.

    State Tax is 7% in SC - can't be avoided.  Is the 20% a gratuity for catering service people? If so, there should be no further tipping!

    Theresa is right, this means you don't add any extra tip.

    Yeah mine includes 21% service fee as well. I don't plan on tipping on top of that.

    This of course is only for your venue.  Other vendors I used did not charge these added costs.  I even tried to tip our DJ for being so fantastic but he refused.
