My Gramp wants to do something but what

My Gramp really wants to do something during the wedding - either ceremony or reception

But I am drawing a blank over what he can do.

Any ideas?

    Can he do a reading?
    Walk you down the aisle?
Make a short toast at the reception?
If you're having a non-religious ceremony, can he become ordained by your state and be the officiant?

    No readings

Wedding is in 29 days so he hasn't left me much time

Did he just spring this on you now?  Your wedding is coming up quick!  You're not obligated to honor his request, but I think it's a really nice idea, especially if the two of you are close.  I second the idea of the toast!

Will you be having Grace said before the meal?  If so, could he do that?

Give him a corsage and if you'd like, ask him to give a blessing or toast at the reception.

Boutonnière and sit in first row. Maybe second dance.

If I had a living grandfather, I'd definitely do the dance.  Now I'm feeling jealous.

I would do a dance too. Grandparents are not forever and having a photo or video of the two of you together will be priceless one day.

    @kmmsg - no grace

Right I will order him a buttonhole
I'll offer him a speech or toast

Me and FI didn't want to do a first dance so can't really offer him a second dance - hmm

    Thanks

He could hold the rings and present them to you before the vows.
    Walk MOB down the aisle.
If you're introducing the parents and wedding party at the reception, include gramps.
Ask him what he would like to do.

Have him make a speech at the reception! Grandpas tend to be hilarious... and well, old people in general :)
