Massachusetts-Boston

Is there a venue anywhere in this state that costs less than $5000 but isn't a VFW?

We've picked our date for a saturday in June, but I'm having a very hard time trying to find just a venue for under $5000 ANYWHERE.

* Ideally it's someplace we can have the ceremony and reception in the same place, but it's not a must have.
* It's a small party of just 120 people.
* We want to bring in our own DJ.
* There needs to be a place where people can smoke. (80% of the Groom's family smokes.)
* Ideally it would be in the greater boston/south shore/north shore area. We're open to Central Mass, Rhode Island and Southern NH, but absolutely don't want to go anywhere near Cape Cod.

  • I would try Independence Harbor in Assonet, MA. They have some great specials going on right now check there website its well worth it.
  • Is the $5000 for rental or rental, food, and bar? Honestly if its just rental pretty much any venue in Worcester county would work! We've got some nice ones, too. I'm getting married at Zukas Hilltop Barn, which I think is around $4000 for a summer Saturday with on site ceremony (I'm going with a Friday which is a lot chraper). We've been thrilled with them for the whole planning process! What's your vibe- indoor? Outdoor? Traditional? Rustic?

    If $5000 is the total with food, check out Lake Pearl Luciano's in Wrentham or Publik House in Sturbridge. They each have lots of packages, and I bet you could find one that would work for you! Good luck!

    I looked at a ton of wedding venues in MA and if you are looking to find a venue with a rental fee only of under $5,000 there are quite a few places. For starters I would suggest the Endicott Estate, Lymann Estate, Bradley Estate, etc. All of these places you can get married onsite, bring your own DJ and have an outdoor reception where people can smoke. I wrote reviews and listed pricing for all of these venues and many other MA one on my blog which is linked in my signature. Good luck!

  • Moraine Farm in Beverly is nice. I think it was about $4,800 for the site rental. We are getting married at the Ocean View Inn in Gloucester. Site rental for a Saturday was $2500.
  • I'm getting married at Groveland Fariways next Saturday and they're VERY affordable. Site rental was $2,500 for the ceremony and reception. You have to rent chairs for the ceremony but that cost depends on how many you need. The space is great and Liz the coordinator there is amazing!
