Hey ladies (and gents). Our wedding is about a year away so I'm really starting to think about colors and themes (I want to start drooling over dresses!). Our venue (Patrick Haley Mansion in IL) has a pretty garden for the ceremony and a beautiful and airy tiled ballroom for the reception. A lot of gold is already incorporated into their decor and the mansion, all of which will be open to guests, was built around 1890. How do I pull off the kind of gorgeous wedding like in Downton Abbey without totally ripping it off? I also don't want to wear a completely authentic period dress either... Any ideas on colors and decor from anyone who's done or seen a similar wedding before? Thanks!
