Things to finish

Re: Things to finish

  • @jaenella depending on when you're starting the party, honestly, I'd recommend you do it earlier than that. (8:30 at the latest) Your older guests will want to leave, and often times they use the cake cutting as the perfect "we can go home after this" cue. And no one wants to miss out on cake!

In my (limited) wedding experience the people that stay after the meal/cake cutting are the ones you really want to party with anyway. They're typically the close friends and family.
  • @lplions - that's a good point. Most weddings we've been to they do the cake-cutting quite late and put it out as part of the late-night food (we have a separate dessert served with dinner), but since we're doing cupcakes it would be easy enough to cut the cake top right after dinner and then just leave the cupcakes out for anyone to grab whenever - we don't start dinner until about 6:30-7 so the cutting would fall right around 8 - 8:30.

    Thanks!
  • We still need to:

Figure out how in the world we're getting gloves that match the bridesmaid dresses
Ditto to my own gloves and veil (damn champagne dress!)
    Finish printing/assembling/stuffing/and mailing invites
    Make cake topper
Try not to hover over my mom as she finishes centerpieces and table sashes
Find a feather/quill pen for guest book
    Buy shoes
Figure out hair/makeup and whether I want my aunt (cosmetologist) or a salon to do it
Make the bolero jacket for my flower girl
Make the ascot for the ring bearer
Figure out RB and FG gifts
    Finish bridesmaid gifts
    Wrap all the things
    Finish up our music lists
    Finalize contract with string quartet
Find 30-50 more ivory chair covers at wholesale price OR sell the 50 we have to subsidize cover rentals
Decide whether my dress needs to be fitted (depends on whether I meet my weight loss goal or not)

    ..maybe that's it? I think?
  • Oh, and we need our license (the week before) so I need to get FI's birth certificate, and I need to finish the card box. oy.
  • Khrysty289   If you still need the birdcage label, I have a template if you'd like!  (Please excuse the Whataburger and Chicken Express cups...ha)
