My son, AND future FIL?

Hello!! I am fresh meat to this board, we got engaged on July 4th, and are planning a December 8th wedding! My question is, I have a 5 year old son who I was originally planning on escorting me down the aisle. However, FI has been persistent in asking if his father can give me away. He says it would mean a lot to his dad, and I know it would, but I love the idea of my son walking with me. Would it look awkward if they BOTH walked me down the aisle? My last wedding I walked by myself and my mom just met me at the end of the aisle and gave me away. I love my FFIL so it's not that I would mind him walking with me, but at the same time I want my son with me as well. Thoughts?

    Without knowing your relationship with your FFIL, it would be awkward for him to walk you down the aisle. Have your son do it!

    If you want to have both your son and your FFIL walk with you I don't see a problem with it.  It wouldn't look awkward at all - other than your FFIL should not answer for "who gives this woman" since he is your FI's father. 

    OAN: I don't believe in the tradition of daughters being given to someone...
