Advice for Transport?

Anyone have tips for transporting flowers? I will be picking up 70ish sunflowers two full days before the wedding and they will be transported via our car for a four hour drive. (We wanted to buy local, and our wedding city didn't have, but our home city does!)

Keep them hydrated with water and a flower preservative. With such a large amount you may want to look into making your own floral preservative.  Keep leaves out of the water.  Check the water regularly, if it turns cloudy change it.  Heat and sun are your enemies.  Do what you can to avoid transporting them in the heat of the day. Keep them covered from the sun, which will also help preserve some humidity.  goggle flower conditioning.
