fall centerpiece ideas

Hi ladies,

I am attaching a picture from my centerpiece experiment session today. We are planning our October 2013 wedding and are doing a lot of DIY as well as sticking to a budget of $5,000 because we're paying for it all ourselves. I'm trying to make centerpieces that still look nice, but we can do ourselves. I love gerber daisies and hope to do half the tables (10 total tables) with red gerbers and half with orange gerbers. This greenery is from giant eagle but I feel it looks springy or maybe even Christmasy. Any thoughts on a different filler option? I am hoping I can see what kind of filler we can find growing in early October and that maybe that will make this look more "fall". Any thoughts?

Additionally, giant eagle told me they could do my bouquet but can't do a boutonniere for my fiancé (we aren't having a bridal party). With all the videos out there, do you think this is something we or a family member can attempt the day before?
