Tipping photog for engagement session

Our engagement session is next month and we've already booked the same photographer for our wedding next year (given deposit and all).  I'm just curious, has anyone tipped your photographer for your engagement pictures?  Or do you just wait until after your wedding to tip him/her for all of their work combined?

    I did not. Since mine was a packaged, engagement and wedding. I waited until the wedding day to tip our photographer.

    I didn't. We also didn't tip her on the wedding day. Our photographer owns her own business and my understanding is that one doesn't tip business-owners. Once we get the pictures back, if they're as wonderful as we expect, we're planning to send her a restaurant gift card to say thank you.
