I am looking for a photographer in the $500-$1000 price range for a wedding in the Kalamazoo/Battle Creek area.

I was going to check craigslist when the time comes. I would not use someone who promotes themselves here like the previous post. I don't think they are supposed to. Kind of low class

I know craigslist can be sketchy but I have seen a few good vendor ideas there.

Meghan of Spencer Studios did a friend's wedding a few weeks, and the photos that have been posted so far are excellent.  I don't know her prices, but she seems to do nice work, and is super great to work with!

F5.6 photography is reasonably priced and can send you one photographer or two. I believe they have a page on Facebook
