My wedding was September 21, 2013 and was absolutely amazing. Even with the rain and few mishaps it all worked out perfectly. Here are my reviews:
Ceremony Location: A- Mount Hermon Baptist Church, 2153 Broad Street. This was the church the FI grew up in and Pastor Jackson did an awesome job executing our vision.
Day of Coordinator: A++++++ We used Graceful Event Productions. www.graceful-events.com Tamar served as our DOC, created our awesome candy table and also did our reception venue centerpieces and flowers. Tamar was an absolute joy to work with. The candy table was AMAZING and a huge hit with not only the kids but the adults as well. Please check them out not only for weddings but other events as well.
Transportation: Limousine Livery A-They were on time and the drivers were very nice. We used a limo and limo bus and the bridal party and parents were pleased.
Cake: Debbie Does Doberge: A+ www.debbiedoesdoberge.com If you have not had a doberge cake your missing out. They created this beautiful wedding cake for us that was devoured by our guests. It contained flavors of Red Velvet Elvis, Chocolate Raspberry and Vanilla.
D.J. -Chris Peters A++++++ If you think music is not important, think again. Chris gets the highest compliments. My guest did hot leave the dance floor. He played the best music and made for a very fun environment. Chris also provided music for two rooms. We had cocktail room and a main reception space and he was able to accommodate both spaces with no problem. (225) 303-2379. Don't let the area code scare you he travel with no problems.
Catering: Katie's Restaurant A+++++ I cannot say enough nice things about Katie's Restaurant. The food was delicious. Our menu contained a carving station, a live station where bar-b-que shrimp were cooked to order and served with grits, pasta, fresh vegetables, salad, pass arounds, chargrilled oysters, ummm. that's all I can remember at the moment. Even if you do not choose Katie's as your caterer, recommend you check out the restaurant located at 3701 Iberville Street (Mid City). You will not be disappointed.
Make-up: A+ I just went to the MAC counter at Lakeside Mall. Make-up artists wanted to charge way too much money. My make-up was absolutely gorgeous and I only paid $66.
Reception Venue: UNO Lakefront Arena. UNO was the highlight of our reception. We started off our reception with cocktail hour in spotlights and then moved to the main reception room. The ambiance and the two rooms shocked and amazed some guests.
Dance Floor: New Orleans Party Rentals. They were the cheapest in town, arrived on time for pick up and set up and was very easy to work with. We used a 15X15 dance floor that was the perfect size.
Photo Booth: Mobile Memories- OMG. The photo booth was GREAT! Unlike other booths this booth held up to 7 or 8 people. It didn't come with that bench that constricted what you could do and how many people could fit. Also they provided social media stations where you can upload your pictures directly to FB, twitter or email them to yourself. Also everyone that was in the photo booth received a copy of the strip. SO MUCH FUN.
Bridal Gown: Shea Couture Bridal in Gonzales. They were so kind and professional and my dress was absolutely beautiful. Naja and Toni were so sweet.
Bridesmaids Dress: Pearls Place: A mess never again. Its just chaos in that store. I hated every minute of dealing with them. They also got into an argument with one of BM and told her they did not want her service and asked her to come get her money. I sent three of my BM to different stores.
The dresses were from Bari Jay and beautiful.
After all was said and done our wedding is being the called "the best" by most of our guests. It was all worth it. I wish I could do it every weekend.
