Oct. 12/13 brides!

I think there are only two Oct. 13 brides, but there are a fair number of Oct. 12 brides.

We're down to 11/12 days!

How's everyone feeling? What does everyone have left to do?

I have to: pay the DJ (Thursday), confirm with the florist, make the table letters (letters not numbers), and pack for the wedding night. So I'm feeling pretty good.

Programs will hopefully be done tomorrow, just need to work on the welcome bags, decide if I want to finish the K I was going to hang between our chairs (I glittered the entire thing except for the outline of it and I'm kind of over it already!) and finish parents/readers gifts.  I'll worry about packing for the honeymoon over the weekend!! :)

You guys are lucky, you have hardly anything left!

We still have to pick up our marriage license, have a final meeting with our photographer, I have to finish our seating chart cards, finalize the day of timeline, put together the kids bags, make my hair band, get a thank you card for our officiant, give both of our boys a haircut and wash their outfits, and buy a high chair for DS2 for the reception.

My mom is finishing the corsages, and hemming the ring bearers' pants.

I'm feeling pretty good too! I need to:

    • Prep the favors (ordered cellophane bags on etsy a while ago, and they haven't arrived yet....grrrr)
    • Alphabetize the seating cards
    • Drop off some decor at the venue
    • Meet with day-of coordinator and give her other decor
    • Put programs in basket (should arrive from etsy tomorrow)
    • Buy a cake topper - the mood just hit and I want one for a keepsake
    • Final haircut/get hair highlighted
    • Pay vendors (day of) - but I should prep checks and payments

Starting to stalk the weather, too!

LOL @ stalking the weather! I work in news, and I've been hounding our meteorologists for DAYS.

Thanks for reminding me -- I need to write and then alphabetize the seating cards, too! And do all the final meeting stuff with the venue co-ordinator, but that's scheduled for next Friday, so I'm feeling pretty good about that.

I've been stalking the weather too! This is the point of year for us where it could suddenly get cool at any point this month. It finally was a little bit nicer today, and right now the forecast is for a high of 87 the day of the rehearsal, so if it will be just a couple degrees cooler by the wedding (two days later), it would be perfect!

For a while there, it was "brilliant sunshine" and 73, which sounded amazing. Then it turned to cloudy with showers. I can handle the clouds, but would rather not have rain/showers. Today, mainly cloudy and 73. (That's fine with me!)  Here's hoping it stays that way (or better.)

    I'm a 10/13 bride!

Right now, almost everything is paid for and most of the little things for the ceremony/reception are done.  We just have to get the rest of the stuff for the welcome bags, find a helium tank, find someone who will let us borrow a steamer for that day, and stay sane.

Checking the 10 day outlook has become an obsession.  I checked this morning and the forecast for Friday the 11th leaves much to be desired...and gets my fears going.

I'm pretty much done except for finalizing music for the reception.  I'm stalking the weather !  60% chance of scattered showers and it's an outdoor ceremony and reception.

@tjhartle - Do you have a backup plan in case it ends up raining?

Question for Oct 12th brides - what day are you getting your nails done? Wanted to do it on Wednesday to get it out of the way, but worried they wont look as fresh as say, getting them done on Fri.
I'm getting them done on Friday for the Sunday wedding, if that helps.

    I'm a 10/13/13 bride too!

I did a bunch of stuff yesterday - finalized head count and everything with the venue, went to my 2nd dress fitting (it fits beautifully!! she's just going to take up the hem a touch), dropped off the ribbon for the cake, scheduled the shuttle for the guests and our wedding night transportation back to our lovely honeymoon suite, finally ordered the ceremony programs (crossing fingers that they arrive in time), ordered sparklers, and talked to my doctor about using birth control to delay my period (supposed to start the FIRST day of the honeymoon, boooo).

Things I have yet to do:
    - wrap favors
    - arrange welcome bags
    - wrap wedding party gifts
    - do hair/makeup trial (next Wednesday)
    - pack for honeymoon
    - lots of confirming with vendors
    - make reservation for some type of bridal lunch and/or getting nails done

I think that's about it...it's so hard to remember everything. And I am definitely struggling to concentrate at work.

Ditto this. I've been useless for a week. Next week's going to be worse, I can just tell. Our favours arrived today and I have to put them together (they're bookmarks, so all I have to do is attach the tassels).

I *STILL* have to write out the freaking escort cards and stencil the table numbers. That's been my project every night this week, and I haven't gotten it done yet.

I paid the DJ yesterday, FI is paying the cake lady next week. I have to do my hair trial (next Friday), get my nails done (next Friday), meet with the venue co-ordinator for the final final FINAL (NO ONE ELSE IS ALLOWED TO ADD GUESTS) headcount and seating arrangement (next Friday), drop everything off at the venue (next Friday), have the rehearsal (next Saturday), and that's it.

I'm only working three days next week (Mon-Tues-Wed), and then I'm off until after the wedding, which is nice. I'm feeling pretty good about things.

getting them done Thursday for our Saturday wedding.  Doing it the day before takes an hour or two and I worry that I won't have it to spare with the other things I have going on.
    S'mores. Just S'mores please.

Last week was the busiest week of the year at work, so my to do list is stupidly long. Lots of little things like getting the table number cards printed (we're using broadway musical posters because we are theatre nerds), finalizing music, buying bridesmaid gifts.

As for nails, I'm on Sunday and I'm going Friday morning. I also bought the colour I'm using so I can have someone do touch ups if necessary.

rhawndas - Nope, I'm from Houston.  Although I originally wanted to get married around Santa Barbara but my mom wasn't too thrilled about that.

Same here.  I have stuff to finish up in the 3 days I actually work this week, but my mind is so full of wedding.  I printed the seating cards last night, but have to get the stuff for the welcome bags, get little teal stick-on crystals/whatever for the seating cards, and do some confirming.

I'm getting my nails done Friday for a Sunday wedding.  I talked with my officiant (my grandfather) last night to iron out what he's going to say.  :)
