Have you gotten yours yet?  How far in advance did you make an appointment, and how long did it take you to get through the process?

    Just got mine last week at the San Diego County Administration building downtown. I made an appointment about 2 weeks in advance, although I know they'll take you sooner. You can also do a walk-in, but it will take longer. We paid $50 for the license, there's a $2.50 charge for credit (mastercard and Amex only). Even with an appointment, it took 45 min-1 hour. Then it takes approximately 2-3 weeks for the license to be ready for pick up or mail. Good luck!
