Did you ever solve the rehearsal dinner dilemma? What did you decide to do? I was just wondering.

    Hi Jo Ann!
We decided to stick with our original BBQ idea.  We are having it at one of the groomsmen's house.  He lives very close to the Country Club where the rehearsal will be held and very near the hotel where OOT guests are staying.  My daughter says he has a very nice and large house and yard and is being very gracious.  We are having the wedding party, family and some OOT friends too.  We think around 60 people.  We plan to keep it very casual...hamburgers, hotdogs, salads, beer, soda and wine with cupcakes and cookies for dessert.  Basically just a time to hang out and relax a little before the big day.
How stressed are you getting?  I am at the nightmare stage.  We still don't have back all of our RSVP's but are expecting around 170 people.  I am working on several DIY projects like ceremony programs and menu cards for the tables.  My daughter is running around having final meetings with all the vendors.  How are you and your daughter doing?

Janet, your rehearsal dinner plan sounds great! I'm glad it all worked out. My daughter and I are doing fine with our planning. We hired a partial wedding planner/DOC early on, so Ashley and Alex will meet with her next week to finalize all the details.  All the DIY projects have to be finished by then, so shecan give them to Melissa (from Events on a Budget)that day.  Our guest list is much smaller- we invited about 100 and we are expecting 70 I think. (My daughter and her fiance wanted a smaller wedding). Her fiance's family is from South America and many are having visa issues so I don't think alot of them will make it. Most of our RSVPs are back but up until a few days ago, I had alot missing. It is frustrating. Ash is working on the escort/place cards today and after the meeting with the priest this week, she can get her programs done. Then everything will be done except for the OOT bags which we will do when my husband and I fly down for the wedding. I visited a few weeks ago and we got many of our projects done- it was an exhausting couple of days! I can't believe the day is almost here.
I hope your daughter's wedding is everything she hoped for and I would love to see pictures! Maybe we could each post the links to the pictures on here.
    Take care! Jo Ann

    Hi Jo Ann,
That sounds great!  I would love to see pictures too.  I wanted to go down a few weeks ago but Tara said she had things under control and not to waste the money.  We also have to do the OOT bags and the restroom baskets when I get down.  We will be there for 6 days before the wedding so I should have time.  We don't have a DOC so I hope things run smoothly.  The country club manager kind of acts like a DOC.  My mom, who lives in Florida, is making the gift card box.  Tara just had her bachelorette party this weekend (she had a blast) and just needs to pick up her dress.  I know your daughter got a Maggie dress.  Tara almost did too but ended up getting one from Essense of Australia.
Take care and good luck.  I'm sure both of the girls will have the wedding they have dreamed of.
