Suggestions, Where should we go?

Sigh. My plans have fallen apart and I need advice...

Where should FI and I go on our honeymoon. We want to go the week of Xmas to New Years (there abouts) to somewhere luxurious, tropical island paradise where we can horseback ride and sail and have ultimate all-inclusive, adults only romance. We have about 10K give or take to spend.

We were looking at Fiji but now the travel agent is advising against it because it's the rainy season. Boo.

Not at all interested in Mexico or Bermuda (were just there). Hesitant about Thailand unless you could convince me. Meh about the Caribbean unless you know of something fantastic...

So... what do you suggest?

We'd be leaving from DC

    Thailand has some beautiful places!  Check out Phuket!  And I think December is a good time to go.

    I've also heard December is a good month for Hawaii as well.

    PP has great suggestions, but if Fiji is your dream I would do more research. I may have just had good luck, but I was there in December once and the weather was perfect.

    Ditto. I don't know why your travel agent would say that. I, too, was there in December and it was lovely. Fiji has some lovely private all inclusives. Consider booking through a Fiji Matai specialist, which you can find on Fijime.tv.They are specialists who train to sell the islands and have been there,

    December is the ideal time to go to Thailand. And the islands are amazing. But it is really far to go for one week. If you are going for more than a week I would strong suggest you reconsider. You can be as secluded as you want or in the middle of party central in Phuket. Depending on what you are looking for. Ask your travel agent for so info, it doesnt hurt to look.

    i dont think any of those places have all inclusives aside of the caribbean.

    Hawaii is always a good choice, but I agree with PPs, if you really want to go to Fiji, do a little more research about the weather.

    Fiji does have a few true all inclusives- Namale, Tadrai, etc but most that call themselves all inclusive only include food.

    I feel like "rainy season" in many of these locations means that it rains for 15-20 minutes midday everyday.  It could, however, mean lower rates for you.  I, for one, would happily sit in a warm rain shower for a few minutes to see a destination on my bucket list.  Do some more research before you rule it out!

    Me and the hunny pie are going to Costa Rica and St. Thomas for our honeymoon! I am more excited about the resort in Costa rica which is called OXYGEN JUNGLE VILLAS. Check the reviews on trip advisor (5 stars and UHHMAYYYZINGGG!!) If you don't mind it not being an all inclusive, then you would love the resort I think! Oh and the one we're staying in in St. Thomas is FRENCHMAN'S REEF and MORNING STAR!! Your budget sounds amazing btw! You'll bring a little more than us and we'll be gone for 2 weeks! You will be fine! good luck!!

    Thanks girls. We debated and debated and ended up back where we started. We are officially booked to Fiji!!! So excited. Now to get through the pesky wedding :-)
