Bridesmaids

Have you guys figured out/asked your BM/MOH yet?  I want to figure that out, but FI is resiting figuring out his side.  I know I will have my sister and his sister, then depending on his numbers I want some of my friends.  He doesn't like "ranking" his friends ot figure out Best man, ect.  Anyway, when did you girls start doing this stuff?

We just figured out place and date in the last two weeks, so most of the planning is just getting started.

    I asked all my bridesmaids already and I know many say not to until a year or less because friendships can change.. But my Maid of Honor is my best friend and is like me so our friendship would never change. My sister, FI 2 sisters are bridesmaids, then our two college friends are bridesmaids as well. I have them ranked already kinda of cause 1. My sister will be helping my flower girl and junior bridesmaid since they are younger cousins who might get scared, so she offered to be on the end with them 2. My FSILs are married and my FI will be having them on his side so they will be paired together plus there sons will be in the wedding 3. Our MOH/BM and other groomsman/bridesmaid are all friends from college so they will be paired together. 4. Fiance has BM, & 4 groomsman figured out, I told him this summer or so figure out the other.

    My bridesmaid/MOH are soo excited. We talk about every week alil (all of us are super busy with work and family) We decided this summer we will go and look at bridesmaid dresses, and MOH & some BMs decided on what type of Shower/Bach party :)

    Remember you don't have to have the same number of people of sides. I have 7 and he has 6 but a majority are family for us which means alot! Try and get organized first of your planning. Best of luck, Congrats and Welcome

    LOL I think mine were all asked within two weeks of being engaged. It was a no brainer. Both my sisters, his sister, my best friend is my MOH. Then I have three amazing ladies from different aspects of my life who are close to me. As for FI he has yet to figure his side out. He said "its not like they have to do much". My BM's all have ordered their dresses and four of them have come in already. Oddly I have all that squared awaqy and havnet made a single deposit on anything. AHHHHHH

    I asked mine basically right in the beginning. I don't have any girl friends, because any that I have had were all immature and not on the same path as me. But that is okay because I have wonderful family members who are going to be my bridesmaids :) 3 of my aunts will be bridesmaids and my FI's cousin. My sister will of course be the maid of honor...

    I also asked mine right in the beginning. Initially, I had 3, but one of my BM dropped out after months of me bugging her to order the dress...so now I have 2. My sister is my MOH and my BFF since 6th grade is my BM. FI has 3 brothers, so he will have 3, I'll have 2. I'm okay with uneven sides now, though. =)

    All of mine have been asked since I was originally going to get married this June. My old sister will be my MOH- that was kind of a no brainer for me. One of my BMs already has her dress since she got it before we found out we had to postpone.

    You don't absolutely have to have a MOH or BM, they can all be BMs and GMs.

    We decided on having only two people in our wedding party a few months after being engaged.  Our friends are recently spread out around the country and we didn't want them to feel any pressure by being in our wedding party, so we opted for sibings only.  My FI's sister is going to stand next to him, and my best friend my whole life (I just came across pictures from when we were 3- we were so cute!) is going to stand next to me (I don't have siblings).  I didn't do anything crazy to ask them- we see them and talk to them all the time so we just asked.

    I am asking my MOH this weekend and I will ask my sister and FI sisters Easter weekend. I hope they all say yes... I am actually kind of nervous...

    I asked my MOH and one of my BMs in the last month as they've already gone dress shopping with me and been a sounding board. I'm holding off on the others (2-3) because things can change in the next year. I'm in the wedding of the one BM I've asked and that's in October and she hasn't picked dresses yet and regrets asking one of the girls so early because they don't talk much anymore, so I'm not too rushed on asking or getting dresses.

    Most of them live a city or state away, so to be uniform, I sent them all a jewelry box and in it I put a scroll of paper that asks "Will you be my bridesmaid/maid of honor?"
