Favors

What are you giving for favors? We're watching $ right now, and not doing much of a registry, preferring to have our family and friends come to the party, but since most are flying in from out of town/state/country, is it rude to not offer favors? My FI lost his job 3 months ago so we're trying to cut some corners. And does anybody have any cheap favor ideas? We're 23 days out.

Favors are completely optional. The reception is your thank you to guests for coming. I don't think we will do favors....

We totally would have skipped them, except our last name is the name of a very popular candy, so we packed some up in celophane and stapled a little card to it with a picture of us and our dog that said 'Love, the ___'s'
If it weren't for that neat coincodence, we wouldn't have done it. Any favor that isn't edible is a complete waste of money.

Yeah, we're not really doing favors either. We're having a photobooth though, so I'm considering the pictures from that to be our favors. We've had one on our fridge from our friends' wedding in 2010 for almost 2 years!

I think it's completely fine to skip it. If you want to do something useful/cheap though, I would suggest custom koozies (if you're having beer bottles/cans)!

Ditto to what everyone else has said! Favors can be skipped if you want to save money.

We are doing a photobooth too and instead of a groom's cake we did cupcakes so people will have those to take home as a favor also.

Get some small bags (the ones with the drawstring) at Hobby Lobby or other craft store and buy some Hershy's kisses to put in them! You can attach ribbon or a thank you card to the bag.

We dont really have favors either, we have a photo booth (a groupon) & a popcorn station (cheaper than candy)

We're skipping them too. We're going to put up a sign that says "In lieu of favors, we have made a donation to XX organization."
