Name Change.....

Ok, so I've got my last name changed on my driver's license and went today to the social security office to change it there but the line was literally out the door by about 20 people.  Did anyone mail in paperwork to social security instead of going to the office?  If so, did you just mail in a marriage certificate and a copy of your driver's license?  Thanks!

    I believe you have to go in person at the Social Security office.  FWIW, typically government agencies tend to be really busy on Mondays and considering it was a holiday last week and will be one this week, maybe try on Wednesday?

    i agree, i'd try on another day or go to another office. usually those lines move pretty quickly from what i've experienced.
