Old school cafeteria?

So you can rent a few different locations on Tybee that used to be a school and they are super affordable. However, I was wondering if anyone had their ceremony or reception there?

    There are two that I know of.  One is at the YMCA.  The other is the gym at St Michael's.  I do know people who have used the St Michael's gym.  I've been to other parties at the Y.  At either place, it will take a lot of creativity to decorate them.  Also, I may be wrong, but I'm fairly sure you are not allowed to have alchol at either place.  
    If you want a simple, inexpensive place for a reception on Tybee, I would look into the American Legion, the Old Guard House and the Tybee Light Shrine Club.

    We are going for a dry reception so the alcohol thing works out! :) My step MIL to be really wants to do the decorating so maybe with what we save in venue fees she can go to town with? I think it calls for a drive out there. I will look at the other places you mentioned, thanks!
