I am looking for a venue on the cape for our wedding and am worried about the prices. We want a casual wedding that can be held outside ceremony and reception ( I plan to rent a tent if they dont have one) but would love to provide our own liquor because that seems to be a good way to keep costs down and keep an open bar. An open bar is extremely important to us. Our guest number is between 100-150. Most of the venues seem to say that you must get all liqour through them. Any ideas?

The problem may be the licensing to serve alcohol. I would probably first check with caterers to see if they can provide a bartender and you can provide the alcohol. If the caterer okays it, then the venue should be okay.

Two places I checked out for my wedding were the Cape Cod Museum of Art in Dennis and the Cultural Center of Cape Cod in Yarmouth will both let you bring your own liquor, but you must provide a TIPS licensed bartender, (plain ol' Uncle Eddie won't do,) but they're easy to find on Cape. Luke's Liquor in Dennis will allow you to return unopened bottles of wine and liquor as well.
