Budget Wedding Venues and Flowers

Hi, I got engaged on 10-4-11 and have just started trying to get things together, we have set the date for July 21 or the 22nd of 2012.  I already have the wedding dress on order the rings have been paid for and now I just need to find a wedding venue and a florist to do the flowers for a reasonable price.  This is the second time around and all I remember is the stress LOL.  Does anyone have any suggestions.  Thanks

What kind of budget? What area are you wanting to stay in?

As crash said, we really need to know your budget, what area you want to be in, and also the number of guests you expect to have.  Let us know more details and we can make some suggestions!

Our vendor site is a good place to start.

It's under construction, but there is a list of all the vendors used by current and former Knotties.

I will say this: If you are planning on getting married in July, PLEASE have an indoor ceremony/reception.  Your heat-stroke-free guests will thank you.  =)

How many guests? That will help also.

I am planning a wedding for a friend right now that has that same budget. We are using a restaurant for the reception and it averages about $50/pp at nice places like Lonesome Dove, Texas De Brazil, Ruths Chris etc. If I were you I would go that direction. Treat your guests to a nice dinner and enjoy their company.

As far as cakes go... I love www.allinthecakemix.com She is very reasonable.
Also a lady in Mesquite I have used before is Shelly with http://www.shellybellysweets.com

As far as flowers... check with Central Market :)

Juliebug had her reception at Maggiano's at Northpark, and aeliza is having her wedding/reception at an El Fenix (rooftop patio), I think.

You could also check out Times Ten Too at Times Ten Cellars in Lakewood.  I think the rental is 2500.

I agree with prlmrg that you should go with something like Central Market or even Tom Thumb for floral.

I will definitely say that the all inclusive Big Wedding deal will be out of your range but, if you did something mid-afternoon, it should be doable with some heavy appetizers.  And, with 50 guests, they should be able to fit you in comfortably for your ceremony and reception.

ITA.  I think a nice intimate restaurant reception would be lovely, especially for a second wedding and with your guest size, it should fit well within your budget.  You could also look at Avanti at Fountain Place--you could have your ceremony there as well I think.

Try Event1013 in Plano. You can bring in your own caterer. And it's so lofty feeling you can get away with fewer flowers. http://event1013.com/weddings.html
